Words of Appreciation

My father was on Pathways Hospice starting in March of this year. He lived with Parkinson’s for over 23 years. We worked with Dani, Aubrey and Shayla. I never dreamed that we would find such sweet staff. My dad (and my brother and I) had just lost Mom. It was an incredibly tough time for all of us, and especially hard on my dad’s heart and body. This staff came along us and supported with kindness and love. Dani, social worker, held my dad’s hand more than once, and looked into both my dad’s eyes and mine with gentleness. love and understanding. I won’t ever forget it. No matter how busy they were, they always listened intently and appeared to have more time than I know they did. The empathy and love were tangible in their actions. I will be forever grateful for the excellent support we received from this staff.

Caregiver: Helene Daily

Roger came to us on from Illinois June 1 2023. He was 73. He was Marcia’s brother. Although he had dementia, we thought he would be able to live in an apartment here. We quickly learned he wouldn’t be able to do that. He move in with us. Within a month we contacted Pathways for help. Their assistance was amazing.

Every employee we interacted with should be admired for their kindness and excellent care. But, one employee really stood out. Her name is Helene. She was the CNA who would come out twice a week to help Roger. She deserves great reward for the work she does. To us, she was an ANGEL sent straight from GOD!

She made him smile and she always had a smile. She always understood what was going on and what needed to be done. She showered him, clothed him and blew-dried his hair, a task she said she never did before, for a man. Bless her heart! He especially liked this because he was a hair stylist for 45 years. And a flirt.

She provided us great relief and comfort in only two days a week. Always on time and always here. Helene was friendly, kind and loving towards us all, especially Roger. He always looked forward to her coming.

Adam gave incredibly selfless and tender care to my sister in her home after a cancer diagnosis. He put her needs above all, and supported our large family as if he were related to us as well–I feel as if he’s part of the family now! Adam even recognized my sister’s son outside his home, stopped and chatted, and began a friendship since it turns out they live in the same neighborhood! Adam is a uniquely wonderful person, and I’d want him at my side if something like that ever happens again.

Over the past 3 years these two nurses were a big help to my parents and to myself. They helped guide me and educate me on the progression of the health of my father as he was failing. With this help I was able to find a good place to care for them and assure me of how he would be as peaceful as possible. Thanks ladies for all your hard work and knowledge of the elder care which you provide

We appreciated the wonderful care Janna gave our father during his final journey. She was a valuable resource for our questions and was always quick to respond to our concerns. Her cheerfulness always brightened our day and we looked forward to her visits.

It’s a pleasure to volunteer in celebrating the dedicated service of fellow veterans. As we go out to offer recognition of their time spent serving our country, it’s a time to come together in reflection and appreciation. We often find ourselves in the middle of gatherings where the veteran’s military experiences are shared in deep and meaningful ways. The Pathways Honoring Veterans Program offers a unique opportunity to give sincere thanks to those who have sacrificed much to preserve our way of life.

My husband and I received extensive counseling at Pathways after the sudden, tragic death of our daughter, Kayla in 2007. After seeing what they did for us, I wanted to give back to them in some small way. I also wanted to be there to help others who are dealing with their loss. I know how it takes a lot of courage to come in for counseling, and I want to help people as they take that first step.

If I can help with the housekeeping work, then that gives nurses and other clinical staff more time to do what they do best – care for patients. The end-of-life time can be difficult and unfamiliar, and the Pathways staff offers compassion and knowledge during this time. I want to help ensure that these services are available to anyone in the community who needs them.

Every time I visit a veteran patient to honor them for their service, I tell them, ‘You are an American hero, and you are a national treasure.’ It’s a very emotional time for the committee, veteran, veteran’s family and all involved.”

Pathways was a godsend as we said goodbye to our mom and grandmother and great-grandmother and mother-in-law! Our family was blessed by their concern for us but especially for their care for my mom. Now, I find myself coming back to get some much-needed counseling. If you are facing what we faced with my mom, please consider Pathways.

I would give this group a 100 star review if it were available to do so. We recently lost my father, and Pathways cared for him for two weeks before he left this earth. I can’t find words to express how kind and caring each and every one of the staff members were to my father, my sister and me during this time. Truly they are a very caring and kind group from the chaplain to the CNA’s, nurses, social workers and all that worked with us. If you want a group of people to help you through the difficult time of losing someone, we highly recommend Pathways. You won’t be disappointed.

Pathways came into my life the same day we found out my little brother passed away. It was time for our mom’s cancer battle to end. And Pathways was the best thing that could have happened right then. The first thing they did was call a grief counselor to help our family navigate through his loss and prepare for our mother’s passing. We had an incredible team working with us. Pathways treated my mom with the utmost respect and listened. They made the worst time of our lives manageable. We will forever be grateful.

My daughter passed away with Pathways Hospice. The staff are so kind and caring and supportive. I wouldn’t have gotten through the experience without them. Four months later I’m still coming to them for grief counseling. No better place!!!!

Pathways let me be Bert’s wife during the last week of his life, and they let him keep his dignity. That was the greatest gift we could have received.

I started coming to Pathways when I was 12 after the loss of my father, and it was one of the best decisions made for me in that moment. It made me feel like I wasn’t alone in this journey.
