Quality Measured Through the Eyes of Families We've Served

When families choose a hospice provider, they place tremendous trust in the people who will care for someone they love. That decision deserves more than promises. It deserves evidence.

One of the most meaningful measures of hospice quality comes directly from family caregivers through the CAHPS Hospice Survey, a national Medicare survey completed after a patient's hospice experience. These surveys evaluate the areas families say matter most: communication, timely response, respect, emotional support, symptom management, and overall satisfaction.

At Pathways Hospice, families rated us above both Colorado and national averages in every publicly reported CAHPS category. Eighty-five percent of respondents reported that we always communicated effectively with family members, 81% reported always receiving timely help, and 94% reported that patients were always treated with respect and dignity.

Families also reported strong outcomes in emotional and spiritual support, pain and symptom management, overall satisfaction, and willingness to recommend Pathways to others. In fact, 92% of surveyed families said they would definitely recommend Pathways Hospice, and 87% rated their overall experience a 9 or 10 out of 10.

These results contribute to Pathways' 4-Star Family Caregiver Survey Rating on Medicare Care Compare and reflect something we have believed for nearly 50 years: exceptional hospice care is about more than clinical expertise. It is about trust, communication, compassion, and showing up when families need us most.

Quality isn't what we say about ourselves. Quality is what families say about us after their journey is complete. We are honored by their trust and remain committed to providing exceptional care for every patient, every family, every day.
