Pathways Hospice Shares Vision for Community Thrift Shop on Good Morning NOCO

Northern Colorado nonprofit explores new ways to connect with the community and support its mission

In March, leaders from Pathways joined a popular local radio program to share exciting plans for the future.

During an appearance on Good Morning NOCO, Evan Hyatt and Natalie Petersen spoke with hosts Brian Gary and Tanner Schwind about a new initiative designed to strengthen community connections across Northern Colorado.

A Thrift Shop with a Mission
One of the most exciting topics discussed during the interview was Pathways’ plan to open a community thrift shop.

According to Hyatt, the store would provide several important benefits. First, it would introduce more people to Pathways and the organization’s mission of compassionate care. Pathways has served Northern Colorado since 1978, providing hospice care, palliative care, and grief support to individuals and families facing serious illness or loss.

Second, the shop would create new volunteer opportunities for community members who want to support local hospice care. Volunteers have long played a vital role in Pathways’ work, and a thrift store would offer additional ways for people to get involved.

Finally, the store would help establish a new revenue stream that supports the nonprofit mission of Pathways, helping ensure that compassionate care remains available to those who need it most.

Strengthening Community Connections in Northern Colorado
Petersen emphasized that projects like the thrift shop help reinforce an important message: Pathways is deeply connected to the Northern Colorado community.

For decades, Pathways has served families throughout Larimer and Weld counties, offering medical care, emotional support, and grief counseling to thousands of residents each year.

By creating a space where people can shop, donate, volunteer, and connect, the thrift shop could become another meaningful touchpoint between Pathways and the communities it serves.

Stay Tuned for Updates
While the idea is still in development, Pathways leaders are excited about the potential impact this project could have for both the organization and the community.

As plans move forward, Pathways will continue to share updates about the thrift shop and opportunities for residents across Northern Colorado to get involved.
