Caregiver Pampering Days: Guided Meditation Through Music

July 9 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am MDT

Program Description:

A time for discussion of meaningful music. Each person in the group will be asked to share a song that is meaningful to them. This could be a song that uplifts you, helps you relax when you are overwhelmed, has significance for you and your loved one, or anything else that you would like to share with the group. Each person will be asked to identify a particular section in their song that stands out to them. As a group, we will listen to these sections and have a time of discussion around them. This discussion will be a safe place to share feelings — positive and negative — and be able to relate to other caregivers’ shared experiences. At the end of the session, the group will be given a playlist of the songs so that they can easily be accessed by all. More information will be sent out to the group prior to our meeting on how to share songs, necessary materials (computer and headphones), etc.

Bailey Blatchley is in her final year of her graduate program at Colorado State University to earn a masters in music therapy. She has felt drawn to the field of music therapy since she first learned about it in middle school as it combines two of her passions: music and helping others. Bailey values her experience here at Pathways and hopes someday to work with children in a school or hospital setting.
